Past events and activities
The Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation - Banja Bansko has participated in many activities, trips and events in our country and abroad. Here are some of them:
Celebration of the New Year 2010 - December 31, 2009
On December, 31 the residents celebrated the New Year 2010. A special show was prepared and there was a lottary with lots of presents for the residents. At the end, the manager of the Institute gave a wonderful speach wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
T-mobile visits the Institute for the holidays – December 24, 2009
On the 24th of December, representatives from T-mobile came to our institution to wish the residents a Happy New Year. Аll residents received gifts, candies and they performed a special play alongside a group of professional actors. The play’s title was New Year's Performance. After the show, the residents showed their gratitude by giving the representatives a hand-made flag of the Republic of Macedonia. We are very grateful to all the guests that participated in this event.
The Day of Disabled Persons held in Skopje- December 3, 2009
On the 3th of December, 2009 part of the residents along with the Manager of the Institute visited Skopje. They were invited by the organizer of the celebration of the day of Disabled Persons, from Detla Exclusive organization. It was a media event attended by a lot of eminent guest, people from the Government of The Republic of Macedonia, local self- government, various institutions, municipalities and companies that have proven their humanity and have done a lot for the disabled people, which were handed acknowledgements. Our resident Mojsovska Rose, recieved a diploma for all her efforts for equal treatment and equal opportunities for the people with handicap in the Republic of Macedonia, from the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mr. Bajrami.
The Day of Disabled Persons – December 2, 2009
The International Day of Disabled Persons was celebrated in the Institute’s lobby with a performance play by the residents, with music and coctails. Our celebration was attended by representatives of the companies “Radio Taxi 15 – 88” and “Soft River” from Strumica, which gave valuable presents to the residents (computers, dvd, clothes...) to whom we are very thankful.
Celebrating the Tree Day - October 19, 2009
On the National Tree Day, many trees were planted by the residents and the staff in the Institute. Several species of evergreen and other kindling were planted, so thanks to this action the Institute’s yard is greener and more beautiful than before.
35th Anniversary of The Institute for Health Care and Relabilitation - Banja Bansko - June 29, 2009
The Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation - Banja Bansko celebrated its 35th Anniversary on June 29. A lot of people attended this celebration, such as Dr. Mira Adzic from Sue Ryder foundation, professor Ljupco Ajdinski, the archbishop of the Orthodox Church in Strumica, mayors of Strumica, Vasilevo, Bosilovo and Novo Selo and many others including the Minister of Labor and Social Policy who gave the residents of the Institute a gift - a plasma TV.
There was a special program organized for this event:
- The Manager of The Institute and the Minister of Labor and Social Policy gave short speeches
- A video portraying the work of the Institute was presented
- The residents gave a wonderful performance prepared by themselves
- A cocktail party
The residents thanked the Minister by giving him a handmade arras as a gift, whilst the Manager handed special acknowledgements to all of those who gave contribution to the success of the Institute for their hard work and dedication.
Celebration of the anniversary of St. Pavle 2008 - 2009 - May 10, 2009
On the 10th of May the Manager of the Institute together with some of the residents attended the Celebration of the Anniversary of St. Pavle 2008 - 2009 at the Catholic Cathedral in Skopje. This event was also in honor of the ordination of doctor Kiro Stojanov, Bishop in Skopje 1999 - 2009. Guests on this celebration were the President of the Republic of Macedonia - Gorge Ivanov, the Ambassadors of Poland and Croatia in Skopje and the Diplomatic cores of many countries. Our residents gave the Bishop a gift - a handmade arras shaped in the form of our country with the national flag in the middle. After the ceremony, the residents had a short walk in the center of the city and lunch in a restaurant in the city park.
Anniversary of the tragic death of President Trajkovski - February 26, 2009
On February 26th, the residents accompanied by the manager of the Institute marked the five year anniversary of the tragic death of President Boris Trajkovski. They laid flowers on the monument of the President in the park in Strumica. By the act of paying respect to such great persons as Mr. Boris Trajkovski, we set an example for the young ones of this country on how to become honorable and moral citizens.
Visit of ARM's regiment for special operations - February 25, 2009
ARM's regiment for special operations, specifically the units "Wolves" and "Rangers" visited the Institute on the 25-th of February 2009. This visit was in tribute of their 15 year anniversary. This year they decided to celebrate their jubilee in a different way; by donating their daily meals to our residents. This human gesture speaks a lot about the greatness of these people. The residents showed their gratitude by performing a play prepared for this event and they gave the regiment a hand-made flag of the Republic of Macedonia. This was a really special day for our Institute and we thank the ARM forces once again.
Divine Liturgy in the Catholic Cathedral in Strumica - February 15, 2009
Some of the residents in the Institute with the Manager of the Institute attended a Divine Liturgy in the Catholic Cathedral in Strumica on the 15th of February. This Divine Liturgy was held in tribute of The World Day of the Sick. The Liturgy was very beautiful. Each of the residents lighted candles, and they all prayed together.
Visit of the students from the primary school in Vasilevo - February 11, 2009
The students from the primary school in Vasilevo accompanied by their Music and History teachers visited the Institute on February 11, 2009. The purpose of this visit was mutual association with our residents. The students that visited the Institute are members of the chorus and the orchestra in their school and together with our residents they created a great show filled with music, songs and dancing. This event made the residents very happy and we are extremely thankful for their humane gesture.
Audience with Pope Benedict - December 10 - December 22, 2008
A small group of our residents lead by the manager, accompanied by medical staff and competent associates, in the period 10 - 22 December 2008 visited Rome and Vatican in Italy. The purpose of this trip was a private audience at Pope Benedict XVI. The groups also spent a couple of days in Croatia. The finances for this trip were provided by donations from many companies, the Polish Chamber "Ivan Pavle 2" in Rome and the Catholic Church in Skopje.
Visit of the Minister of finances Mr. Trajko Slaveski and the Minister of economy Mr. Fatmir Besimi - December 17, 2008
The purpose of their visit was a humanitarian donation of clothes intended for the residents.
International art exhibition “Smile” - November 4, 2008
The International art exhibition titled "Smile" was took place in our Institute on the 4th of November 2008. This event was organized by our Institute in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Skopje and Kiwanis International - European Federation. Visitors of this art show were the Polish Ambassador and the organizer Marek Wysoczynski from Poland. Our residents took an active part in this international event with their personal paintings.
Visit of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy - October 2, 2008
The Minister of Labor and Social Policy visited the Institute in order to see the residents, talk to them about their problems. There was also a beautiful entertainment show prepared by the residents.
Reopening of the Institute (the burnt section) - August 8, 2008
After the tragic fire on September 2, 2007, the renovating of the Institute started immediately. This project was financed by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and there were many donations from companies and individuals. Thanks to all of them the burnt part of the Institute was reopened on August 8, 2008. This event was very formal with many guests from the country and abroad.
Art auction in Radovis - July 10, 2008
On the 10th of July an auction of art pictures was organized in Radovis, where Mojsovska Roza, Nedeljkovic Darko and Postolov Igor participated with their own pictures. This was an open auction on which many officials, celebrities and humanitarian organizations contributed financially.
Golden fives of the success - Skopje, June 8, 2008
During their summer vacation in Struga, Nedeljkovic Darko and Postolov Igor went to Skopje to take part in an art show for persons with physical disabilities. Darko and Igor are 12 and 13 years old respectively and they are both very talented, so the boys won Golden Fives.
A summer vacation in Struga, June 7 - June 14, 2008
All the residents, together with the Manager and some of the employees spent a week in Struga during the summer. They stayed in Hotel "Galeb". The residents did a sight-seeing of the city and swam in the Ohrid Lake.
A trip to Poland, April 29 - May 12, 2008
Some of the residents accompanied by the Manager visited Poland and participated in an international art exhibition. The residents also took part in many organized workshops for people with disabilities; they hand-made wooden objects, gypseous objects etc. During the trip, they were accommodated in a modern residence, very similar to our Institute.
